This isn't about jumping on a bandwagon. This is the excitement at feeling as if 2016 could finally be the Chicago Cubs' year. Earlier today Jake Arrieta pitched a no-hit game, the second of his career, to give the Cubs a 16-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
The alleged financial machinations of soon-to-be-ex Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich read like they have come from a parallel universe. My favourite charge against the Blagster is that he would help the Chicago Tribune sell Wrigley Field (home of the Cubs) if the paper sacked certain members of the paper's editorial staff who were seeking his impeachment. The deal wasn't a starter, of course.
Item One - Newtown 8 Wentworthville 12. After a record 24 minutes of sudden-death extra-time and nineteen missed attempts at golden point field goals by both sides, the Maggies ended it with a try. For the second time in three years, the Bluebags have lost the NSWRL Cup GF in extra time after falling for a kick-a-field-goal-from-anywhere-on-the-ground strategy. Credit where it's due - Wenty dominated the second half and the bulk of the extra time.
