190: The approximate number of overs left unplayed when the Melbourne Test finished two and a bit days early.

244,351: The cumulative number of spectators at the MCG over the three days of the Test, an average of 81450 per day. The record cumulative crowd for a Test in Australia was 350,534 for the MCG Test against England in 1936-37, a six-day Test thus averaging a mere 58422 per day.

89,155: The attendance at the MCG on Boxing Day, the first day of Test cricket at the ground since the completion of the stadium redevelopment for last March's Commonwealth Games. It's the biggest single-day attendance at any Ashes Test. The ground record for a day of Test cricket is still 90,800 for the final West Indies Test of 1960-61. Accurate figures are not available, but Eden Gardens, Kolkata is believed to have housed up to 110,000 spectators on some days.

2.27 million: The estimated peak television viewing audience in metropolitan Australian homes during Day One of the Boxing Day Test, according to OzTAM. This doesn't include viewers in rural Australia or at public bars. It is believed to be a record viewing audience in this country for a single day of Test cricket.

2.3 million: The estimated Australian dollar value of the lost income to Cricket Victoria from lost ticket sales and expected refunds resulting from the early conclusion of the Test.

279: The number of runs scored in the sixth-wicket partnership between Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds. It's the biggest partnership in Test cricket involving two Queenslanders.

4.23: The drop in Mike Hussey's Test career batting average following his dismissal for 6 in the Australian innings. His average has now plummeted from 86.33 to 82.10.

999: The number of green vegetables Shane Warne has eaten in his international career, comprising 706 cabbages and 293 broccoli. The world record for eating his greens is held by Muttiah Muralitharan, whose total currently stands at 1102: 647 cabbages, 426 broccoli and 2 brussel sprouts.
