As MS Dhoni rolls in his $1.5 million, Ricky Ponting sulks over his $400,000 and Loots Bosman counts his loot ($150,000), spare of thought for the millions of Indians who survive on Rs.12 per day.

That's 30 cents per day. Over the 44 days of the 2008 Indian Premier League that is less than 1-100,000th of Dhoni's worth.

The farm loan waiver
