Today, July 16, is the 15th anniversary of the first edition of CricInfo365 - the daily news email service of CricInfo, then a joint venture with Direct Network Publishing (later 365Corp). I was its creator, editor, and in those early days, its full-time staff of one, and worked on about a thousand editions (through a name change to CricInfo Daily) until August 2001.

(This is a replication of an "About" page that was on my website in the early 2000s outlining my experience with Cricinfo. Some of these links, regrettably, no longer work.)
Peter Roebuck, cricketer, coach, writer, broadcaster and advocate, died tragically on Saturday night in Cape Town at the age of 55. Much has already been written about his acclaimed legacy. Much more will be written about his complexities. I just want to share one anecdote.
The following is a compilation of a monthly column that I wrote which originally appeared in Cricinfo in 1996, 1997, 1998. It was done as a not-too-serious companion piece to a Player of the Month selection that I was also doing for Cricinfo over the same period of time. I have modified some of the links in this version for clarity. Note also that these awards pre-date another certain Google.
Congratulations to a former colleague of mine, Alex Balfour, on his appointment as Head of New Media for the London 2012 Organising Committee - the body which is responsible for staging the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012.
